Portuguese star striker Cristiano Ronaldo is at the top of the list with the highest number of goals in the UEFA Champions League which will not be broken anytime soon since Argentinian footballer Lionel Messi went to play Inter Miami.
But there is a player among others who is eager to assume the throne of becoming the number one striker in the UEFA Champions League; Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
The Argentinian International Messi has the record number of goals in a single club, however, it appears as if he is playing a catch-up of his rival Ronaldo who signed a contract in January last year with Saudi club Al Nassr.
The 36-year-old Messi is behind the 11 goals of the 39-year-old Ronaldo.
According to NBC Sports, the 23-year-old Haaland has entered the competition list of all-time’s top 20 with 41 goals.
On the other hand, French forward, Kylian Mbappe is coming upward in the list of the top 10 passing Didier Drogba, Sergio Aguero, and Eusebio.
He has joined the Europa League’s Mohamed Salah who has 48 career UCL goals, the outlet reported.
The only nearest threat to Ronaldo’s 141 goals record after Messi is Laliga club Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski.
PSG’s Mbappe and City’s Haaland are respectively 93 and 100 goals away.
