Taylor Swift just received gratitude from the pop band, The Starting Line for a reference made in her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.
In the album which was released on April 19, Swift included the lyrics, “When someone plays The Starting Line/And you jump up/But she's too young to know this song,” in her track, The Black Dog.
Taking to their official Instagram account, the Given the Chance hit-makers uploaded their gratitude post in the first slide and a monochromatic picture of their lead singer, Kenny Vasoli, smiling onstage, in the second slide.
The thank you note penned to Swift began, “Re: The Black Dog Dear Taylor, We heard the song, thank you for name checking our band.”
“We feel flattered and humbled by the reverberations of love that have come back to us as a result,” they added.
“It’s an honor to have TSL memorialized on such a lovely song. You didn’t have to do that, but you did, and we appreciate it wholeheartedly. Respect!”
The Starting Line signed off the note saying, “Love The Starting Line PS #4OTW” along with the post’s caption that read, “Thank you @taylorswift.”
