Katy Perry slams ‘strong reaction' to her new hair

Katy Perry shut down the "strong reaction" to her new hairstyle as she rocked a new look for American Idol’s latest episode.

The Last Friday Night singer took to Instagram on Tuesday and shared a video of her hair stylist chopping her black hair into a messy bob and captioned the video, “thoughts, comments, concerns.”

However, last week the American Idol judge was spotted at the Oscar de la Renta fashion show in sleek center partying with waist-length jet black hair.

Fans could not hold back and rushed into the comment section to express their disagreement over the 39-year-old singer’s new hairdo. 

One follower commented, "WTF IS GOING ON? TELL ME IT’S A WIG,"  while another fan exclaimed, "ahhhhhhhh!!!! Nooooo!!!! You chopped off your beautiful long hair! ohhhhh but super cute. I love it. I'm conflucted. Nooooo!!! Yessss!!! Ok. I like."

Later in a follow-up post, Katy revealed it was just a wig. “Slide 4 for all you KatyRats,” she captioned the post.

In the follow-up carousel post's slide 4 she hit back by saying, ‘'You guys had a lot of strong feelings about my haircut. Let's save that energy because this is just a wig."

Meanwhile, Katy's die hard fans whom she calls "Katycats" showered her comment section with love and admiration for her new hairdo.

One fan commented: "I'm very happy for u, you always look fabulous." Another fan chimed in, adding, "No complaints, love it love it LOVE IT."
