Nicole Kidman admits cannot love blindly after Tom Cruise hurt

After separating from Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman says she often becomes wary in her current relationship with husband Keith Urban.

In a chat with Harper Bazaar, the Oscar winner opened up about the impact of the breakdown of her well-known marriage with the Top Gun star that went from 1990 to 2001.

"I was young. I think I offered it up? Maybe I've gotten a bit more trepidatious, but I'm always trying to be as open as possible. I just prefer to live in the world that way," she said.

The Eyes Wide Shut actress admitted her high-profile past has a long-lasting impact on her current marriage, "I'm wary at times, and I've been hurt, but at the same time I much prefer a warm approach rather than a prickly shutdown approach. My husband, Keith, says that when he met me, he said, 'How's your heart?' And I apparently responded, 'Open.'"

In the meantime, Nicole and Keith met in 2005 as the spark between them took a serious turn leading them to tie the knot in 2006 in Sydney. The pair shares two daughters.
