'Gen V' makes major announcement after Chance Perdomo's passing

The Gen V team has decided to honor Chance Perdomo in a special way after he passed away at the age of 27.

The young actor, who played Andre Anderson on the Amazon Prime series, won’t be getting replaced, according to a statement by the crew.

The team took to their show’s Instagram story and penned, “As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory. We won't be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance.”

“Instead, we have been taking the time and space to refract our Season 2 storylines as we begin production in May. We will honor Chance and his legacy this season,” they continued.

Their announcement comes more than a month after Chance died in a motorcycle accident in late March.

At the time, the cast of Gen V, including Maddie Phillips, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Lizze Broadway, Sean Patrick Thomas, took to their social media and shared a joint message for his remembrance.

“Our hearts are with Chance’s loved ones as we grieve this shocking loss. We will remember the special moments we had together, his infectious smile that could light up any room, his warm hugs and the authenticity he carried with him always,” they had penned.
