Fact-check: Video misidentifies lookalike as former prime minister Imran Khan

Video does not feature Imran Khan but a TikToker lookalike named Naeemullah from Swabi, KP

A video circulating on social media amidst ongoing farmer protests falsely claims to depict former prime minister Imran Khan inspecting wheat fields during his tenure. Contrary to social media assertions, the individual in the video is not Imran Khan.

Claim

On May 4, a Facebook user shared a 24-second video allegedly showing a figure resembling Imran Khan walking through a wheat field. The clip, accompanied by a caption suggesting Khan’s hands-on approach to agricultural policy, garnered over 800 views, 158 likes and 14 shares.

Fact

The video does not feature Imran Khan but a TikToker lookalike named Naeemullah from Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Naeemullah uploaded the video to his personal TikTok account on May 2.

In an interview with Geo Fact Check, Naeemullah revealed that his impersonation of Imran Khan was inspired by a former satirical program on Geo Television, the "Banana News Network (BNN)".
