13 of a family killed as truck plunges into ditch in Punjab's Khushab

Rescue officials say the injured were shifted to THQ Hospital for medical treatment

At least 13 people belonging to the same family were killed and nine others got wounded as a truck plunged into a ditch in Punjab's Khushab district, Geo News reported citing sources.

As per the sources, the accident occurred because of brake failure on Panj Pir Manawan Road in Khushab, consequently, the truck driver lost control of the vehicle and it fell into the ditch.

The deceased included women as well. The ill-fated family was going to Khushab.  

The rescue officials said the injured of the mishap had immediately been shifted to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for medical treatment.

In the similar incident in March this year, eight members of a family, including women and children, were killed when a vehicle, in which they were travelling, plunged into a deep ravine in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Buner

The ill-fated family was heading to Shahi village when they met with the accident near Chagharzai Pandhir, area of Buner, the officials had added.
