Long-march will continue sans break: Qadri
LAHORE: The long-march spearheaded by Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran leader Dr Tahirul Qadri has entered Kamoki.

The caravan, comprising all sorts of vehicles including cars, buses and motorcycles, began its journey from Model Town, Lahore and reached Kamoke after moving through Faisal Town, Kenal road, Railway Station, Minar-e-Pakistan, Shahdarra and Muridke.

Strict security arrangements were put in place by the administration with thousands of security personnel stationed along the long-march's route.

Emergency alert has also been issued at all the government hospitals where holidays of the staff have also been canceled to deal with any eventuality.

Earlier, talking to the media Dr Tahirul Qadri gave his rally a title of ‘democracy march’ and said that the march would continue to the capital city of Islamabad without stopping at any point.

"It is a march for democracy, it is a march against looters and plunderers ruling in Islamabad and Lahore, it is a march against the evil forces, it is a march against those exploiting poor people, it is a march against the oppressors, the corrupts and the persecutors of the weak and poor would InshAllah be wiped out forever,” said Qadri prior to departing for the march.

In his diatribe, Qadri accused Punjab government of harassing TMQ workers and seizing vehicles hired for the march. He said that his security vehicles were also snatched by the provincial government and all the cities were blocked.

“It is a march to topple Yazeedi Empire, I declare the march as a democracy march,” it is a march for the people sobbing in Quetta with over hundred bodies, Qadri said.

He demanded of the federal government to dissolve the Balochistan government for its failure to protect lives of people.

Prior to this the Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran leader said the government in an effort to stop the march had placed tankers filed with acid in the federal capital and had dug ditches filled with explosives. He also claimed that the government had seized their vehicles and arrested workers.
