ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that requests for suspension of mobile services on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) have been received from several cities across Pakistan, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Khairpur, Lahore, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sheikhupura and Nankana Saheb.
While speaking to the media in Islamabad, Malik said that he had received no intelligence of terror attacks on Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH), adding that if the request came directly from the provincial governments mobile services would be suspended.
The interior minister further added that he would review the situation and a decision for suspension of mobile services on Friday will be made by tonight (Thursday).
Meanwhile the Home Minister Balochistan has announced that mobile phone services will remain suspended in Quetta from 10AM-2PM on Friday.
