LAHORE: The government team which met Tahirul Qadri at the Tehrik-e-Minhajul Quran secretariat has promised that they will inform him about the dissolution of assemblies within ten days.
The team also recommended that discussions regarding the caretaker prime minister should be held during the next meeting. Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said that cases against participants of the sit-in have also been withdrawn.
The team led by PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujjat Hussain were holding talks with Tahirul Qadri on how to move forward on the ‘Islamabad Long March Declaration’.
Members of the ruling coalition including Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, Syed Khurshid Shah, Farooq Sattar and others while as many representatives from the TMQ led by Qadri took part in the meeting.
The meeting discussed issues related to implementation on the agreement signed by Qadri and the government that led to lifting of a four day sit-in in the federal capital.
Farooq H Naek, who was a key member of the government team did not attend the meeting as he had been summoned by President Asif Ali Zardari to Islamabad.
According to reports, Naek in a telephone call assured Tahirul Qadri that consultations over legal matters would continue.
