Passenger train comes under fire in Quetta
QUETTA/CHAMAN: Unidentified men on Sunday opened fired at a passenger train in Qila Abdullah, damaging its locomotive.

No loss of life was reported.

According to police sources, the Quetta-bound passenger train was
stopped on railway track by protesting tribesmen after it had left Chaman Railway Station for Quetta.

"Hundreds of tribesmen blocked the road and rail-track linking the border town of Chaman to Quetta to protest against crimes including highway robberies, car snatching and kidnappings for ransom," the police said.

Some unidentified persons opened fire at the train when the engine driver tried to reverse it back to the Chaman railway station. As a result, the locomotive was damaged, but no loss of life was reported, the police added.

The police have registered a case and started investigations into the incident. (APP)
