ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik was questioned on his statement issued recently regarding a ‘terror wave’ to hit Karachi in February during the federal cabinet meeting.
Law Minister Farooq Naek said the statement spread fear in the city adding that Malik should not provide information regarding terrorism to the people and should first contact the concerned quarters.
Malik maintained that the only purpose of giving the statement was to alert the people and had no intention to spread panic.
In a recent statement, the Interior Minister had warned of a possible terror wave to strike Karachi in February. The statement has also been criticized by MQM leader Waseem Akhtar.
