FAISALABAD: A first information report (FIR) has been lodged against international Kabaddi player Saba Sultana, who was shot by a young man before attempting suicide last week, after the youth succumbed to his bullet wounds here on Tuesday.
Saba’s father, her two brothers and a close relative have also been implicated in the case.
The slain young man, Imran had shot himself after critically injuring Saba Sultana by opening fire on her on August 18.
He was resident of Owais Colony, the same neighbourhood where Saba’s house is situated. Both were shifted to Allied Hospital in critical condition last Tuesday.
The condition of Saba is said to be stable now.
Saba Sultana was part of Pakistan’s team that played an international event in India last year. She was hopeful of representing the country in the future also.
According to Saba’s father, Imran had carried out the attack over a payment dispute of a laptop computer.
However, sources had told Geo News that the youth was interested in marrying Saba and took the decision following a spat that created rifts between the two.
