Meta's WhatsApp is set to roll out a new exciting feature soon, which will allow the users to translate the messages in their chat boxes in their preferred language.
The instant messenger remains the most popular and primary source of communication for many around the globe. However, the company is reportedly developing a feature to improve communication accessibility for individuals from different lingual backgrounds
In a recent news update, WABetaInfo reported about the upcoming feature to translate messages using language packs.
As you can see in the attached screengrab, the feature will assist individuals in reading the messages received in a foreign language via translation.
Here, the users can rest assured that the privacy of their messages will be maintained "since the translation process always occurs locally, without sending data to external servers".
The WhatsApp news tracker said that the users will need to download language packs to enable this feature in the future, ensuring they have access to translations in their preferred languages at any time.
However, the future live translation feature is likely to be limited to certain languages such as English, Arabic or Hindi initially, with potential expansions to include more languages in future updates.
The feature is currently being developed for Android phones.
