Fact-check: Viral video claiming to show Punjab's information minister proven false, a case of digital manipulation

Online users are circulating screenshots from a video, claiming it depicts Punjab’s Information Minister Azma Zahid Bokhari with an unidentified man.

This claim is unfounded. The minister’s image has been superimposed onto that of another woman.

Claim

On July 24, a user on X (Twitter) posted two still images from a video allegedly showing Bokhari.

“Who hasn’t seen Azma Bokhari’s leaked video yet?” the user captioned.

At the time of writing, the post has been shared 1,700 times and liked 7,600 times. It has garnered 549,700 views.

“Azma Bokhari’s video has been leaked,” another X user wrote. “She preaches but look at her actions.”

The woman in the viral video is not the provincial information minister. Her image has been digitally manipulated and superimposed onto that of another woman.

Through its investigation, utilising reverse image search engines, Geo Fact-Check discovered that the viral video is three years old and was originally uploaded on a pornographic website.

The woman in the original video bears no resemblance to Bokhari.
