WhatsApp users! The wait for the Meta-owned instant messaging app's favourite chats and groups feature, which was announced previously, is finally over.

Previously, WhatsApp had announced that it would soon roll out a feature to enable users to mark certain contacts and groups as their favourites.

Now, according to WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp for iOS 24.16.79 update was released on the App Store recently, confirming via its changelog that the app will officially be rolling out this feature to a broader audience.

The official changelog mentioned that it is finally possible to add favourites that appear at the top of the calls tab and as a filter for the chats list, WABetaInfo reported.

To get started, WhatsApp users can open the app settings and open the favourites section, where they can easily add contacts and groups to their favorites list.

Once added, these favourites will be prominently displayed for quicker access. In this section, users can also manage their favourites by rearranging, adding, or removing them as needed.

In addition, the changelog provided by WhatsApp notes that users can experience the new calling user interface (UI), which features updated controls that are more intuitive and easier to access, improving the overall reliability of the calling feature.

If you don't have these features, note that some accounts may receive them over the coming weeks, according to the official changelog.
