KARACHI: The Awami National Party has rejoined the Sindh government after a joint meeting of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party's (PPP) Core Committee and ANP here on Wednesday at the Chief Minister House.
The meeting was attended by Agha Siraj Durrani, Muhammad Ayaz Soomro and Rashid Rabbani of PPP and Rana Gul Afridi, Ameer Nawab and Younis Buneri of ANP.
The ANP team on the Pakistan People’s Party's request, announced to rejoin the Government of Sindh, an official handout from CM house said. It was decided that both members of ANP will sit on Treasury benches in Sindh Assembly while Ameer Nawab assumed his responsibilities immediately after meeting.
On the occasion Agha Siraj Durrani congratulated ANP Committee on behalf of President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
He said that Chief Minister Sindh has welcomed the decision and termed it as a success of democratic forces. He hoped that ANP and PPP will work together in the larger interest of country particularly for the progress and prosperity of province. (PPI)
