The Pakistan Embassy in Rabat, Morocco organised a special ceremony to commemorate Defence Day, recognising the valour and sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers who protected the nation's sovereignty and borders during the 1965 war, and reaffirming the country's commitment to its defence.

Pakistan Ambassador to Morocco Mohammad Sami's invitation drew a prestigious group of community leaders and ambassadors from multiple nations to the solemn ceremony, fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation.


The Defence Day ceremony was also graced by the presence of Morocco's Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi, Ambassador/Chief of Protocol Anas Khaless and other esteemed government officials, who came together to honour the occasion.

The attendees honoured the valorous armed forces of Pakistan, with Ambassador Sami delivering a heartfelt tribute in Arabic language. He urged the Arab and Muslim world to pay attention to the grave human rights abuses and atrocities committed by India in the Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) as well as the ongoing violations in Gaza and Palestine, and to take a stand against these injustices.

He lauded the Pakistan army's remarkable legacy and its pivotal role in maintaining global peace through its participation in United Nations peacekeeping missions.

Ambassador Sami acknowledged that the selfless sacrifices of Pakistan's soldiers have enabled the nation to rest peacefully.

Ambassador Sami highlighted the international recognition of the Pakistan army's bravery and sacrifices in combating terrorism. He expressed pride in the army's professional excellence, which serves as a beacon of hope for the nation.

Whether facing natural disasters or national crises, the Pakistan army is always among the first responders, demonstrating their unwavering dedication to protecting the country and its people.

A highlight of the event was the cutting of a magnificent cake, adorned with the vibrant flags of Pakistan and Morocco, serving as a poignant reminder of the enduring friendship and solidarity between the two nations.
