ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has taken suo moto notice of the blast in Abbas Town, Karachi.
The hearing of the case has been scheduled for March 6 and the report pertaining to the blast has been summoned from the Advocate General and Inspector General Sindh police.
The hearing is expected to focus on the failure of authorities to act immediately following the blast.
At least 48 people were killed in a horrific blast in Abbas Town on Sunday night in Karachi. Hundreds of shops and homes were badly damaged in the blast, which came as people were leaving a nearby mosque after offering prayers. The balconies of nearby apartment blocks were also destroyed in the blast.
