The West is mulling the incredibly dangerous idea of allowing Ukraine to use long-range missiles that can hit deep inside Russia. It’s a recipe for disaster of an unimaginable proportion and has the potential to start World War III.

The question is who will win this war?

Well, this conflict was one of the top agenda as British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met US President Joe Biden at the White House.

They reaffirmed unwavering support for Kyiv but kept their cards close to their hearts about the decision to allow Ukraine to use ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System made and provided by USA) or British Storm Shadows.

On his part, Biden tried to downplay warnings of war by his Russian counterpart by saying, ‘I don’t think much about Vladimir Putin’. However, the president admitted that the United States and UK were ‘Working together to ensure Putin doesn’t win.’

Earlier, President Putin had remarked that Ukraine was not capable of using these Cutting-edge high-precision long-range missiles.

‘These weapons are impossible to employ without intelligence data from satellites which Ukraine doesn’t have. This can only be done using the European Union’s satellites, or US satellites — in general, Nato satellites’, Putin explained.

He added that ‘the second point- perhaps the most important, the key point even — is that only Nato military personnel can assign flight missions to these missile systems’.

Hence, for the Kremlin, it’s not a matter of allowing Kyiv to attack Russia with ATACMS. It’s Nato entering directly into the theatre.

‘And if this is the case, then, bearing in mind the change in the essence of the conflict, we will make appropriate decisions in response to the threats that will be posed to us’, warned Putin.

As these developments are being made close to the presidential elections in the US, the Russian leader has wryly endorsed Kamala Harris. Is the Russian president expecting Donald Trump to reclaim the White House? After all, Trump claims to know President Putin and Zelenskyy well. He has also vowed to end the war before even becoming the president.

‘They respect me. They don’t respect Biden. How would you respect him? Why? For what reason? He hasn’t even made a phone call in two years to Putin. Hasn’t spoken to anybody. They don’t even try and get it. That is a war that’s dying to be settled’, remarked Trump in his debate with Harris.

In the same breath, Trump vowed: ‘If I win, when I’m President-elect, and what I’ll do is I’ll speak to one, I’ll speak to the other, I’ll get them together’.

Democrats may call it cowardice. Yet, Trump, who did not start a war during his presidency, is mindful of unparalleled destruction if Putin were to drop a nuclear bomb on the United States or its Nato allies.

‘They don’t ever talk about that. He’s got nuclear weapons. Nobody ever thinks about that. And eventually uh maybe he’ll use them. Maybe he hasn’t been that threatening’.

Sentiments of Trump are echoed in some of the top capitals in Europe. French President Emanuel Macron is maintaining ambiguity about his stance on long-range missiles.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has also made it known that he is not in favor of allowing Ukraine to use the German-Swedish Taurus KEPD-350 against Russia.

"It's still like that. I stick to my position, even if other countries decide otherwise. I'm not going to do that because I think it's a problem," Scholz maintained.

Due to the Russia-Ukraine war, Berlin had faced an economic loss of $106.8 billion in 2022 alone. Since then, there has been no ending to the challenges as Moscow used to supply almost 55% of Berlin’s natural gas and 35% of crude oil need at a very competitive rate.

Surely, it will be further disastrous for the German economy if Moscow retaliates for facilitating a Ukrainian army strike deep inside Russia.

With coalition partners dragging their feet, will the US allow Ukraine to use American ATACMS? Well, it doesn’t seem the outgoing president Biden will decide as it may affect the US presidential elections.

What if Harris wins presidency and the US or its allies opt to signal Ukraine strike deep inside Russia?

No doubt, it’s going to be a disastrous step for both Russia and the United States of America. Yet, neither Moscow nor Washington will be the real loser.

Such a move would be only apocalyptic for Europe as Ukraine has already lost the war.
