There's no doubt that Apple, the world's leading phone manufacturer, offers its users a wide variety of  of emojis to choose from, yet sometimes they are unable find the emoji that correctly expresses an emotion they want to convey.

However, Apple decided to get rid of these limitations for its users by introducing the "Genmoji" feature at its Worldwide Developers Conference 2024, as part of the Apple Intelligence.

According to Mashable, Apple Intelligence is the iPhone maker's new suite of artificial intelligence features. Some of these AI features could potentially be rolled out in Apple's upcoming operating system, iOS 18.

Genmoji, an amalgamation of the words "generative AI" and "emoji," is one of the most interesting and exciting features among them.

It offers users a more personalised way to express themselves by generating customised emojis that better encapsulate their intended emotions.

But how can they use this feature once its rolled out?

It's pretty simple. All you need to do is:

  • Open the Messages app.
  • Tap on a thread or compose a new message.
  • Start typing your description in the text field.
  • A "Create new emoji" prompt will pop up.
  • An ovular bubble will appear, indicating that it is currently generating a new Genmoji based on your text.
  • After a few seconds, you should see some iterations of your new AI-generated emoji.
  • Swipe through the options and hit "Insert" on the one you like the most.

Furthermore, according to Mashable, users may have to wait longer to officially use this feature as it is still unclear if Genmoji will be part of iOS 18, which is expected to officially roll out later this year.

Although there is currently an iOS 18 developer beta available for brave testers, Genmoji is currently not featured on it either.
