Peshawar mosque bombing death toll rises to 5

PESHAWAR: The death toll in an explosion inside the Jamia Masjid in Baqir Shah locality has reached to 5, Geo News reported.

According to hospital sources, one more injured succumbed to wounds in the hospital, bringing the death toll to five. 14 out of 28 injured are being treated at the hospital, while others had been discharged.

The sources said the explosion took place as worshippers were in the midst of offering afternoon prayers. The explosion took place inside the mosque where the prayer leader stands. The bodies and the injured were shifted to Lady Reading hospital where an emergency has been declared. Three of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
