The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) top officials have visited Islamabad’s Red Zone area to inspect and review the power supply arrangements amid the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conference 2024.

According to a statement issued today, Iesco Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Naeem Jan, GM Operations Aslam Khan and Superintending Engineer Shahzad Ahmed Jalil visited the Red Zone in Islamabad to “inspect and review the power supply arrangements”.

During the visit, Executive Engineer Altaf Khokhar and SDO Red Zone Hafiz Ali Ashraf briefed the senior officers at the site.

“The visit aimed to ensure that all necessary power infrastructure and systems are in place to guarantee uninterrupted electricity supply during the event, given its international significance and high-profile nature,” the statement said.

Such reviews were critical to maintaining the Iesco’s standards of service during large-scale events, particularly in sensitive areas like the Red Zone, it added.
