KARACHI: Justice (retd) Zahid Alvi has been sworn in as the caretaker chief minister of Sindh.
The oath was administered by Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad.
The governor has also approved the summary sent by chief minister, setting May 11 as election date.
On Wednesday, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Opposition Leader Syed Sardar Ahmed nominated Justice (R) Alvi as the interim CM.
Addressing a press conference Shah said that Zahid Qurban Ali was a neutral person and he was selected for the post after consultation between the government and the opposition.
