Musharraf to land in Karachi today
KARACHI: Pakistan’s former military ruler Pervez Musharraf would land at Karachi’s Quaid-e-Azam International Airport here on Sunday, Geo News reported.

Musharraf was to land at the airport and directly drive to the mausoleum of founder of the nation, to pay homage and address a public gathering there but the Sindh police have cancelled NOC for the rally.

A spokesman for the police said that organizers of Jalsa have been informed about the cancellation of the NOC.

On the other hand the former military dictator said that the Jalsa would be held at the Quaid’s mausoleum at any cost.

Musharraf has already been granted protective bail by the Sindh High Court which paved way for his safe return.

Gen (retd) Musharraf who faces several charges including conspiracy to murder former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and Nawab Akbar Bugti, has hinted to take part in the forthcoming polls.

The former military leader has lived in self-imposed exile in London and Dubai ever since stepping down five years ago. Several cases have been lodged against him and warrants of arrest were issued by the courts in this regard.
