The outgoing prime minister was given a farewell guard of honor after the election commission decided on the name of a caretaker prime minister.
Prior to his final departure from the prime minister house, Raja Pervez Ashraf met the staff that has served him while he was the incumbent premier.
The caretaker prime minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso is expected to be sworn in on Monday.
