The Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) elected its office-bearers at its annual general body meeting for the year 2024-25 held on Thursday.

Mian Amer Mahmood (Dunya News) was elected as chairman, Salman Iqbal (ARY News) as senior vice chairman, Mir Ibrahim Rahman (CEO Geo TV Network) as vice chairman, Shakeel Masud Hussain (Dawn News) as secretary general, Ahmed Zuberi (Aaj TV) as joint secretary and Muhammad Ather Kazi (KTN) as finance secretary, according to a statement.

The PBA annual general body meeting was attended by television and radio members.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif felicitated the newly-elected office bearers of the PBA.

He expressed the hope that the newly elected officials will play an active role in resolving the issues of broadcasting and broadcast houses besides the development of the association.

“I hope that the newly elected officials will play their important role in bringing broadcasting in Pakistan to par with the international level,” he added.
