Cher went down the memory lane about ex-husband Sonny Bono’s marital affair.
As reported by PEOPLE, the “Goddess of Pop” got candid about it in her newly launched memoir titled Cher: The Memoir, Part 1 and recalled that her then-husband once cheated on her with his secretary in the mid-1960s.
The Believe singer went on to say that at that time, Sonny was working on the script for a movie called Chastity and had hired a "young and blonde" secretary to help with dictation.
Cher recounted that how she woke up one night and saw "two figures" in the den. She also heard "rustling and whispering".
"At that point I knew something was wrong, but kept walking back toward our bedroom,” said Cher, adding, “when I saw the shadowy figures of Sonny helping his new assistant out the front door."
The After All hitmaker went on to recount how she was "overloaded with sadness" and set off to stay with her mother.
According to Cher, her ex was able to win her back with his "charm" and alter tried to blame the alleged cheating on the Strong Enough star.
Cher and Sony had an unofficial wedding in 1964 while they officially tied the knot in 1969.
The duo welcomed Chastity, now known as Chaz Bono, the same year they officially married.
The Mamma Mia! star got separated from Bono after filing for divorce in 1974, which was finalised in 1975 following a tough custody fight over Chaz.
Released on November 19, Cher: The Memoir, Part One chronicles the challenges that led to the downfall of her marriage. The second volume is due to be released in 2025.
