Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face “sad” Christmas celebration this year as the couple would mark the occasion in absence of close family members.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to spend Christmas in Montecito, California, with their children Archie and Lilibet, and Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland.

However, according to a recent report, Harry feels sad to spend another festive season away from his father, King Charles, and rest of the Royal family members.

“Meghan only has her mum, as there’s almost zero chance of a reconciliation between her and her dad,” the insider said of the Duchess of Sussex.

But the couple is still excited for this year’s Christmas. “Christmas is Meghan’s favourite time of year, she loves seeing everyone over for Thanksgiving, and then they are in full on countdown mode for Christmas,” they added.

The insider further told OK! Magazine, “This year feels special because both children fully ‘get it' - they’ve been talking about Santa and Christmas for weeks.

“Harry is also very excited and loves seeing how excited Archie and Lilibet are getting. He sometimes can’t believe how lucky he is to have them.”
