Barry Keoghan will reportedly play the role of Ringo Starr in an upcoming Beatles biopic.
The drummer himself confirmed the news in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying, “I think it’s great.”
Starr added, “I believe he’s somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many.”
The upcoming Beatles biopic includes four films from Starr, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison, directed by Sam Mendes.
“I'm honoured to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies,” Mendes shared previously.
It is worth mentioning that Keoghan, who recently gained fame from his roles in The Banshees of Inisherin and Saltburn, will be joining a rumoured cast that includes Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.
Since there's nothing official about the cast, Mescal addressed the rumours in an interview with GQ magazine, saying, “I would love to be involved, but there's nothing set in stone.”
