Cher reveals one wish for new album: 'I am praying'

Cher just voiced the one wish she hopes comes true while recording her final album.

In her latest appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the iconic 78-year-old pop star mentioned that she is praying to be able to “hit the notes” as she starts working on new music.

“You’re not meant to be singing at this age,” the Believe hitmaker, who skyrocketed to fame in the 1960s after her musical contribution in the husband-wife duo, Sonny & Cher.

Cher has since then released many solo tracks over the span of five decades and even added launching a memoir to her long-standing career.

“We are starting to work on the final album when I get rid of the book,” she joked, making a playful dig at her autobiography, titled, Cher: The Memoir, Part One.

The After All crooner continued, “I did a good job on the Christmas one (released last year) and I am praying I can get through it.”

“You’re not meant to be singing at this age, and I hope that I will be able to do it and hit the notes,” she added.

Also discussing why Cher decided to write and launch a memoir, she responded, “I don’t know. There’s no reason for almost anything I do. It was OK and interesting, but I didn’t feel anything.”

“I remembered it, I wanted to do it, and I did it. Originally, I didn’t want to tell anyone anything, but then I thought I should either tell it or give back the money!” Cher further stated with her usual witty responses.
