Ben Stiller recently shared a comedic anecdote about being mistaken for longtime friend Adam Sandler during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The two actors, friends for over 30 years, often find themselves the subject of fan confusion, with Stiller recounting instances where people reference Sandler’s movies, including Click.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Stiller explained, “People yell things like, ‘Click changed my life!’ I’ll correct them, saying, ‘No, I’m Ben Stiller.’ And they respond with, ‘Who?’”
Moreover, despite their differing appearances, the confusion stems from their extensive collaboration and overlapping comedic careers.
As per the publication, the duo starred as brothers in The Meyerowitz Stories (2017) while they worked together on Sandler’s Happy Gilmore and many other projects.
It is worth mentioning that the mix-up might continue as both actors are set to reprise their roles in Happy Gilmore 2, announced by Netflix earlier this year.
Meanwhile, while visiting The Tonight Show in August, Sandler confirmed the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s appearance in the highly anticipated sequel to his 1996 golf comedy as he stated, “We have something nice for Travis Kelce. He’s going to come by and he’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell.”
