Salma Hayek has extended her “true” emotions to the team of Wicked, a decade after her own failed attempt to turn the musical into a miniseries.

Hayek recently took to her Instagram and posted a series of pictures and video to celebrate the success of Wicked’s movie adaptation, which broke box office records just days after its debut.

The carousel opens with her red carpet picture alongside Arana Grande, in which the Wicked star can be seen wearing a white gown, complementing her look with a slick bun and sparkling necklaces.

The second slide is a video that features Cynthia Erivo running towards Hayek to give her a hug.

Just like her character in the film, Erivo donned a green and grey embellished dress with fancy black nails and earrings.

On the other hand, Hayek, the star of Without Blood, opted for a red gown, and keeping her look simple, she wore nude makeup while her straight hair was on her shoulder.

The 58-year-old actress and filmmaker also penned a caption that read, “Congratulations @arianagrande, @cynthiaerivo, and the entire Wicked team for the magic you’ve brought to our screens! [emojis].”

For the unversed, in 2011, Hayek was set to produce an eight-hour miniseries of the musical, which is based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel, Wicked, which is itself a retelling of The Wizard of Oz.

ABC announced that Hayek and her production partner Jose Tamez would produce the series.

However, the project never fully took off, and the movie version of Wicked continued to move forward, with actresses like Lea Michele and Amy Adams being considered for the roles of Glinda and Elphaba.

It is pertinent to mention that Maguire had also sold the rights to make a non-musical adaptation of his novel in 2009.
