Angelina Jolie breaks silence on being a workaholic that 'can't relax'

Angelina Jolie has admitted that she likes being “challenged”.

The 49-year-old actress told Vogue Mexico that she's the happiest when she's working.

“I think a creative person always wants to be growing,” said the actress, adding, “I always want to be challenged, I want to feel that.”

“I think it’s also about the relationship I have with myself and feeling like I’m not growing,” she added.

According to the Salt star, she always puts herself in situations where she is not the smartest person in the room.

Jolie went on to say, “Or I don’t understand everything that’s going on, but I know that so much creativity and human growth comes from being completely uncomfortable, but working hard."

Before moving on to other topic, Jolie the said, “So I think that’s where I’m happy.”

The actress also expressed her regret for not knowing how to relax.

She explained, “I can also blame myself for not knowing how to relax. I can't always take a vacation.” 

According to Jolie, she has been working from the age of 14 to help her mother Marcheline Bertrand pay the bills.

On the work front, Jolie will soon star in a biographical psychological drama Maria, which is scheduled to stream on Netflix on December 11, 2024.
