ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif extended warm wishes to the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday as the nation celebrates its 53rd National Day.

The prime minister, in a heartfelt message shared on X (formerly Twitter), lauded the UAE's remarkable journey of progress and prosperity, attributing its success to the visionary leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

"Today, that vision to achieve excellence through innovation and modernisation is carried forward by my dear brothers, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum," he said.

PM Shehbaz highlighted the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and the UAE, underscoring the nations' shared commitment to deepening their historical and fraternal relationship.

He expressed optimism about transforming these ties into a robust and mutually beneficial economic partnership, saying: “Together, we will continue to strive to further strengthen our historical and fraternal ties and transform them into a mutually beneficial economic partnership.”

"Long live Pakistan-UAE friendship!" the premier concluded.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also extended his congratulations, emphasising the significance of the UAE's National Day as a testament to its stability and prosperity.

"The brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE are growing stronger with time," Naqvi remarked, highlighting the UAE’s consistent support for Pakistan during times of need.

“The UAE has always stood by Pakistan in every trial, and we take pride in our enduring partnership,” he added.

The UAE National Day, observed annually on December 2, commemorates the unification of the seven emirates in 1971 under the visionary leadership of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

It symbolises the UAE's rapid ascent as a global hub for innovation, trade, and cultural harmony.

For Pakistan, the day underscores a partnership rooted in shared history, culture, and economic collaboration. The UAE hosts a significant Pakistani diaspora, whose remittances contribute substantially to Pakistan's economy.

Bilateral trade and investment have seen growth, making the UAE one of Pakistan’s largest trading partners.

The UAE's pivotal role in providing humanitarian aid, fostering infrastructure development, and supporting Pakistan in challenging times cements this enduring friendship.

Both nations continue to collaborate across various sectors, including trade, energy, and technology, reaffirming their commitment to mutual prosperity.
