Billboard 200 is a well-reputed chart in the music industry. Kendrick Lamar's album GNX topped the chart due to strong sales numbers.

According to them, his album has the highest first-week sales of any new rap album this year.

With 319,000 equivalent album units, it marked the Grammy winner’s sixth straight number-one album.

Initially, GNX was observed to gain 291,000 first-week units; however, to the surprise of many, the projections shot up, leading to somewhere between 310,000 to 325,000.

Unsurprisingly, the album’s chart-topping debut was largely expected, given Kendrick had a phenomenal year after seemingly beating Drake in a high-profile feud earlier this year.

Also, the diss track Not Like Us, which became the summer song, is fast reaching the most-selling of 2024 in the U.S.

Meanwhile, Drake has accused the Universal Music Group of boosting the song’s popularity through illegal manners with the help of bots and payola.

His lawyer alleged that the label "launched a campaign to manipulate and saturate the streaming services and airwaves" with the song, using bots and pay-to-play agreements to make it go viral.
