ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Jawwad S Khawaja has stated that prevailing lawlessness in Pakistan is because of deviation from the Constitution.
He was addressing a ceremony of the Supreme Court on Saturday evening.
Justice Khawaja said, “It is important to identify the reasons of gulf between the state and its citizens.”
“Providing basic facilities to the masses is not the state's generosity but the right of its citizens,” the CJP asserted.
The system of accountability is weak in Pakistan, Justice Khawaja regretted.
