Sir Elton John's health crisis raises 'serious' concerns

It appears that Sir Elton John's friends are worried about his health as he continues to work hard despite ongoing issues.

A source told The Sun, 'Elton's friends are seriously concerned about how much he has taken on and believe it is having a major impact on his health. Quite a few people who he is close to have now encouraged him to slow down because he has been busier than ever this year.”

The source added, “He isn't getting any younger, and his health has been deteriorating in the past few years.”

“The whole point of his farewell tour was that he would be home more once it finished, but he is still working to an intense schedule; something has to give,” the insider shared.

Notably, the 77-year-old singer of Rocket Man recently finished his 330-date Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour and launched two musicals, Tammy Faye on Broadway and The Devil Wears Prada in London.

At the West End premiere on Sunday, December 1, Elton gave an emotional speech about not being able to watch the performance due to eyesight loss.

Elton’s 62-year-old husband, David Furnish, helped him off the stage, and during his speech, the Hakuna Matata hitmaker thanked David for being his "rock" while getting ready for the show’s opening on Sunday.

He said, "It's hard for me to see it, but I love to hear it."

For the unversed, Elton recently revealed that he has been facing difficulty seeing out of his right eye for months, and his left eye "is not the greatest" after a serious infection.

It is pertinent to mention that it is still unclear if this condition Elton is going through is temporary.
