Jennifer Lopez reveals raw truth behind her role in 'Unstoppable'

Jennifer Lopez recently reflected on the deep personal significance of her upcoming movie, Unstoppable, that was filmed during her divorce from Ben Affleck.

While conversing with Entertainment Weekly, Lopez opened up about her role as Anthony's mom, who is also in an abusive marriage, and said, "There was a lot about her that I understood."

The 55-year-old star of the music and acting worlds quipped, "There were different sides to [her husband] that the kids didn't see, that only Judy saw. With those types of people, there's a part of them that fools you into thinking that they care about you and that they truly love you—and it's really about their damage that they're putting onto you."

"There was a lot going on with the two of them that was dysfunctional and unhealthy, but she loved him and wanted him to be there," Lopez added.

Moving forward, the Atlas actress revealed that "When I first learned about the true story behind Unstoppable, I was moved beyond words.”

"It's a testament to resilience, grit, and the human spirit,” she remarked.

"It was such an honor playing Judy Robles in this incredible story about her son Anthony Robles. Both Anthony and Judy are real examples and define what it means to be UNSTOPPABLE," Lopez concluded.

For the unversed, Lopez is releasing Unstoppable on December 6 with a limited theatrical release.

The forthcoming movie chronicles the story of Anthony Robles, a wrestler born with one leg who stood victorious by winning the 2011 NCAA individual wrestling national championship.

It is pertinent to mention that produced by Ben Affleck and his long-time partner Matt Damon, Unstoppable also stars Jharrell Jerome as Anthony, along with Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, and Don Cheadle.
