Nikki Garcia opens up about 'really tough' separation from Artem Chigvintsev

Nikki Garcia finally broke the silence on her divorce from Artem Chigvintsev.

During the latest episode of her The Nikki & Brie Show podcast, the retired professional wrestler confessed that she has had a “really tough” time coping with the end of her marriage to the dancer.

“I’ve been heartbroken. Sad. You know, you dream of having this family and you have this incredible love and it just goes the other way,” said Nikki.

The 41-year-old continued, “You go from having a great love story to having a terrible one. And I never saw any of it coming, you know, as far as, like, what the ending would be.”

Nikki added that she “didn’t know [her] heart could break that many times in such a short period of time.”

For those unversed, the couple's two-year marriage came to a crashing halt over the summer when Artem was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a spouse. 

However, the Dancing With the Stars pro vehemently denied wrongdoing.

Although the charges were dismissed, Nikki allegedly kicked Artem out of their marital home, where they lived together with their son, Matteo. She filed for divorce from the dancer weeks later.

The two officially finalized their divorce last month.
