Kate Middleton has paid special tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth.

On Monday, Princess of Wales made a return to her royal duties as she attended a ceremonial welcome for the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at Horse Guards Parade in London.

Kate, dressed in a stunning burgundy coat dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, paid stylish tribute to the late Queen.

She donned Queen Elizabeth's £30,000 Bahrain pearl drop earrings and her Japanese pearl choker, which were previously worn by Princess Diana.

Princess Kate joined her husband, Prince William, to greet the Qatari royals, including the Emir and his first wife, Sheikha Jawaher.

This appearance marked significance for Kate, who withdrew from the public eye following abdominal surgery earlier this year.

However, Queen Camilla was notably absent from the event as she is recovering from viral chest infection.

While Camilla missed the welcome ceremony on medical advice, she is expected to attend the state banquet later.
