Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to change a major Royal tradition they consider celebrating Christmas in a “more normal way.”
According to a royal expert, the Prince and Princess of Wales will not exchange gifts on Christmas Eve, a custom dating back to Queen Victoria's time.
Speaking on the matter, royal expert Jennie Bond said that William and Kate want to celebrate Christmas in a "more normal way" and may opt out of the traditional gift-giving ceremony.
The expert revealed that the Royals will instead focusing on a more low-key celebration with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
"I don't think they worry particularly about how they’re perceived at Christmas but I do think that Catherine and William want to do things in a more normal way,” she told OK! Magazine.
"They are lucky because they have their own home close to Sandringham so they’ve always been able to wake up there, do stockings and presents and then go over to the big house for the more formal celebrations,” she added.
She commented, "I think this whole new generation of royal youngsters are having a different experience of royal life.
