Charli XCX has Ariana Grande to thank for boosting her confidence in acting.
The 360 singer told Variety that the Thank U, Next crooner voiced support over her desire to have an acting career in the industry.
Ahead of her anticipated appearance on Saturday Night Live, or SNL, Charli XCX stated, “She’d obviously just done [SNL in September] and killed it, so I was getting tips,” adding, “She was just like, ‘You’re gonna be amazing, just relax, it’s so fun.'”
The iconic pair of songstresses have worked together on a collaborative track featured on the Speed Drive hitmaker’s critically-lauded brat album remix, titled, Sympathy is a knife.
On one of brat and it’s completely different but still brat’s most successful songs, Grande and Charli XCX sing of how fame and success is like a double-edged sword
“It’s a knife when somebody says they like the old me and not the new me, and I’m like, ‘Who the fuck is she?'” the 7 Rings crooner sings in the track.
According Variety, in her latest interview, Charli XCX, talking about the collaboration said that Grande “gravitated towards that song.”
She continued, “She had a lot to say. We went back and forth on the lyrics, talking about all the knives that we both felt in in this industry.”
