Jimmy Fallon’s latest attempt to spread holiday cheer with Jimmy Fallon’s Holiday Seasoning Spectacular on NBCS has been met with widespread criticism.

The one-hour special, inspired by his Holiday Seasoning album released in November, featured Fallon on a whimsical quest through New York City to find his “Christmas Ding Dong,” accompanied by celebrity appearances from stars like Dolly Parton, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, and Meghan Trainor.

According to Daily Mail, despite the star-studded lineup and festive ambition, viewers took to social media to criticize Fallon’s singing and comedy, with some calling the special “corny” and “poorly produced.”

Meanwhile, comments ranged from bemused critiques of the premise to outright dismissal of Fallon’s musical efforts.

In regards to this, a social media user remarked, “Jimmy Fallon just jumped the shark. This ‘holiday seasoning’ is horrific garbage,” while another labeled it as “long, drawn-out disaster," as per the publication.

Moreover, even some fans admitted disappointment, with one viewer saying, “I like Jimmy Fallon, but this Christmas special is AWFUL.”

Additionally, the backlash came on the heels of criticism for Fallon’s appearance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, with some alleging he seemed intoxicated, as per the outlet.

Furthermore, while the special did feature moments of charm, including Mariah Carey’s performance, many felt Fallon’s holiday offering fell short of expectations.
