QUETTA: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and his guard were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them in the Goli Maar Chowk area of the provincial capital on Monday evening, police sources said.
According to initial reports, armed men riding bikes opened fire at DSP Ameer Mohammad Dasti and his guard namely Aftab, both killed on the spot. Assailants managed to escape. Deceased DSP was way home from Brewery police station, sources added.
The dead were brought to Bolan Medical College hospital where doctors pronounced them dead.
Heavy contingent of police reached the site and cordoned off around the areas to track the suspects out.
