Nicole Kidman recently got candid and opened up about playing the role of "red-hot" Babygirl.
While conversing with Deadline, Kidman shared that she was immediately interested when filmmaker and writer Halina Reijn told her the name of a movie she was writing.
The Big Little Lies star quipped, “I love the title. So, I was like, ‘Oh! I’d like to be a Babygirl!’”
The 57-year-old actress revealed that she was “completely sort of hypnotised” after reading the script, as it gave a “very modern look at women’s sexuality, but also just desire and who we are authentically as people and whether we’re loved for who we are.”
Moving forward, the Oscar-winner explained the film seemed to have sparked a feeling of “fire and liberation in people, which is what the film’s about.”
For the unversed, Babygirl has already impressed festival and award audiences since A24 premiered it at the Venice Film Festival.
Kidman’s performance won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at Venice, and this week, she also stood victorious by winning the National Board of Review’s NBR Award for Best Actress.
It is pertinent to mention that Babygirl will be released in theatres nationwide on December 25, 2024.
