Ridley Scott confirms Paul Mescal's new rumoured role

Paul Mescal is rumoured to appear as Paul McCartney in the biopic on The Beatles.

The casting, however, was not officially announced. That didn’t stop Ridley Scott from sharing the news publicly, though it seemed unintentional.

His revelation comes in a chat with his fellow filmmaker Christopher Nolan at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles.

The conversation was dealing with Ridley's statement that he would seek The Gladiator II actor as a lead star when the Oppenheimer director asked him whether the Academy-nominated hero would helm his next project.

“Yes,” the Alien filmmaker replied. But then he added, “Maybe. Paul is actually stacked up, doing the Beatles next. So I may have to let him go.”

In light of rumours, Paul was asked about his response to playing the legendary British musician.

“It would be an incredible story to be attached to,” he previously told ET. “The fact that Sam Mendes is attached to direct, like truly, it would be a dream come true.”
