Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo celebrated their Golden Globe nominations by sending each other flowers.
In a recent chat with People at the Academy Women's Luncheon presented by Chanel in Los Angeles on Tuesday, December 10, Grande shared her excitement and called it a "surreal" moment that she and her Wicked costar Erivo both received the nods at the upcoming Golden Globes.
"We were just crying together and screaming, and we sent each other flowers immediately," the Disney alum told the outlet.
Erivo is nominated for her performance as Elphaba while Grande is nominated for her role as Glinda under the category of best performance by a female actor in a supporting role.
The 31-year-old singer went on to say, "I'm just really deeply proud of her and of us together and the work that we've done. And to see it be recognized is just so — the weight is more than I could have imagined."
While gushing about Wicked's early award recognition, Grande expressed her gratitude by saying, "You don't expect something like that when you're in it. You try to just the work and focus on the work, but I was so grateful to do the work every day, and that was the prize to me.
"But when it does happen, it's really extraordinarily emotional and overwhelming," she added.
