ISLAMABAD: A seven member Pakistan Table Tennis team will feature in the 22nd Asian Table Tennis Championship scheduled to be held at Pattaya Thailand from September 26 to October 3.

We have finalized four male and three female players to represent the country in the event, Secretary Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Kifayatullah Khan told APP.

The team will fly to Bangkok on way to Pattaya on September 24.

The male members of the team include Asim Qureshi, Mohammad Rameez, Abdul Raheem and Shujaat Ali whereas Shabnam Bilal, Rahila Kashif and Ayesha Iqbal are female members.

Four officials Amjad Khan Afridi (head of delegation), Khalid Mahmood Chaudhary (council member), Khawaja Hasan Wadood (manager) and Kifayatullah Khan (delegate) would also accompany the team.

“Except Asim Qureshi, our entire team is comprised of young players. Our focus is on youngsters and we will be able to make a strong outfit in next two years,” Kifayatullah said.

Currently Pakistan players are undergoing an intensive training at a camp at Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad. The camp was set up on August 18. (APP)
