Rita Moreno, a legendary actress, singer, and dancer, recently got candid and shared what facilitates her in maintaining her health.

Illuminating Julia Louis-Dreyfus' podcast titled Wiser Than Me with her presence on Wednesday, December 11, the star of One Day at a Time revealed the secret to her good health at this age, saying, "I’m just a lucky little b****,” to which the host replied, “You really are.”

Moreno went on to explain, “I try not to watch what I eat. I eat pretty much what I like. I am what my doctor calls ‘pre-diabetic,’ so I do have to be careful about sweets and stuff like that, but I've been that for years and I'm still good.”

She added, “I was just born with fantastic genes. I have really good skin for someone who is, you know, 93 today.”

Moving forward, Louis-Dreyfus mentioned Moreno’s tanning history by asking, “I read you used to sit out in the sun and become like a piece of bacon... You haven’t had skin cancer?”

Answering her question, the Fast X actress replied, “Never, never, never. Isn’t that amazing? My mom did; she had little skin cancer things, but I never had a problem with my skin. It doesn’t mean I don’t have wrinkles.”

The Academy winner noted that these days she does not “work out at all,” and her knees “are shot to pieces from all that dancing. I mean, West Side Story,” adding that “the thing that really killed my knees was playing Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard.”

It is pertinent to mention that Moreno, who was born in 1931, celebrated her 93rd birthday on December 11, 2024.
